PfMO Benefits Manager Job Opening in Bristol

DBS Portfolio Management Office (PfMO) is responsible for improving governance, with a particular focus on the selection, prioritisation and control of DBS’ projects and programmes and maintaining a single view of change.
As the Benefits Manager, you will work with projects and programmes to proactively identify, quantify, and track the realisation of benefits used to justify investment. You will ensure that DBS has a ‘fit for purpose’ approach to benefits measurement and realisation
You will ensure that the right information is provided to the right people, in the right format and at the right time to inform decision making about the DBS Change Portfolio.
Responsibilities We are looking for someone with a blend of skills and experience, which will enable them to work in a collaborative and complementary way within the PfMO, with DBS colleagues and with other key stakeholders.
We want to attract a person who has:
Experience of benefits management;
Experience of portfolio assurance, and Portfolio, Programme and Project Management (PD) principles
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
Self-motivation, is proactive and able to work methodically, often to tight deadlines;
Strong stakeholder management skills.
We are looking for an APM Practitioner Qualification or APM Managing Benefits Practitioner (desirable).
This an exciting opportunity to gain an overview of programme/project management, work with senior stakeholders and to be at the forefront of creating management information in support of the DBS Portfolio Management Office. Attending specified DBS change governance meetings and Risk/Benefits management meetings and workshops.
Benefits Management:
Lead on benefits management activity and work with the project to support delivery of the business case benefits and outcomes. Champion the use of best practice and provide expert advice for team members and project community.
Support the project manager in preparing and updating the benefits elements of the Business Case working with specialists as required.
Define and shape the benefits management strategy taking into account the wider organisation methodology.
Establish and maintain the project Benefits Realisation Plan including change control.
Establish the mechanism for the tracking and reporting of benefits through the project lifecycle and into realisation.
Facilitate workshops, map benefits and circulate for agreement and approval, applying experience to provide challenge and ensure assumptions are robust. Works with a range of stakeholders to validate and test dependencies.
Work with Stakeholders to ensure benefits are identified, understood, owned and maximised. Briefs key stakeholders ahead of benefits reviews. Engages with organisations portfolio office to assess consistency and test double counting.
Team Working:
Establish effective working relationships with all stakeholders, including Resourcing and the corporate risk management team.
Provision of business continuity cover within the PfMO, such as support to Portfolio management team review of the Portfolio.
Work across organisational boundaries, establish strong working relationships with MOD central PfMO and PD Centre of Excellence, and encourage the application of best practice
Provide support to the DBS Modernisation Programme.

Input to the Annual Assurance Report;
DBS Benefits Map;
Governance forum inputs;
