PS/540/C - SC6-S01 - Intelligence Analyst - Intelligence & Specialist Crime Job Openings in Huntingdon

This is an opportunity to join a team of intelligence professionals based within Cambridgeshire Constabulary’s Intelligence and Specialist Crime Department and composed of police officers and police staff in a wide variety of roles.
As an intelligence analyst, you will work alongside local, frontline police officers, senior leadership within various departments throughout the Force, as well as non-police partner agencies as you undertake intelligence analysis to understand and solve complex problems in the criminal environment, predict trends in criminal activity and make recommendations to enable Force leadership to respond to and prepare for problems in an effective and efficient manner. You will directly support live law enforcement operations and complex criminal investigations through technical data analysis as you develop lines of inquiry and assist in locating suspected offenders and vulnerable individuals. In this role, you will have a multitude of opportunities to develop key skills in relevant IT systems and analytical techniques, which you will use and hone on a daily basis. You will be expected to support the development of internal good practice and team cohesion within the department. You may be required to represent Cambridgeshire Constabulary at regional or national level, and may be called to provide evidence in court.
Essential Criteria;

  • Educated to A level or equivalent, with at least two years’ experience of researching and analysing data within a relevant area.
  • Able to demonstrate advanced data mining skills and a high level of computer literacy.
  • Able to demonstrate previous ANACAPA/i2 and GIS training or use experience.
  • Innovative and resilient, with good organisational skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships, even when under pressure.
  • Able to communicate effectively and clearly to inform and influence decision makers.
  • Willingness to work extended hours of duty and provide occasional weekend and Bank Holiday on call rota cover

Desirable Criteria;
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Previous experience of analysis or having worked in an analytical position
  • Previous experience of working with intelligence
  • Experienced at working in an intelligence or law enforcement environment, with good knowledge of the National Intelligence Model.
