Brief Description of the Role:
We have an exciting new post for a Senior Phlebotomist to join the management team of a very busy Trust Phlebotomy department. The team contributes to the delivery of a high quality phlebotomy service to patients from Bradford and surrounding areas. Rotational working gives variety and interest to the role, patient contact and the opportunity to learn to perform Paediatric phlebotomy.
Services are provided across two sites at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, to include St. Luke’s Hospital and Bradford Royal Infirmary. The service covers Outpatient Adult and Paediatric Phlebotomy services as well as a daily ward provision 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
The post will involve rotation between all areas of phlebotomy including outpatient and ward settings, as well as supporting and deputising for the Phlebotomy Coordinator. The successful applicant will have leadership and management experience, as well as being a trained and competent phlebotomist to support the team and provide backfill in the event of staffing shortages. Further training will however be given to the right candidate.
The post requires an enthusiastic, flexible and confident person with a caring, supportive and friendly nature, excellent communication, customer interaction and organising skills as well as the ability to work safely, quickly, under pressure and with attention to detail. Good manual dexterity is required as well as basic IT skills and the ability to deal well with pressure.
