Hertfordshire State School Term Time, plus 3 weeks
Monday to Friday 9.30-16:30 Term time
The College is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified HR Officer with a good understanding of the payroll process. The post-holder will be required to maintain personnel records, co-ordinate the process of recruitment of staff, including Safeguarding checks, the retention and termination of staff and general HR issues.
The HR Officer should have experience of HR administration and payroll, be computer literate and well organised with an eye for detail. The ability to work effectively in a small team with minimal supervision must be demonstrated. Given the nature of the work, it is essential that the HR Officer maintains staff and other records in the strictest confidence and is mindful of the need for discretion at all times.
The primary duty of the HR Officer is to maintain the Single Central Register and associated personnel records kept in the Bursary, co-ordinate the process of recruitment of staff, including Safeguarding checks, and the retention and termination of staff. The HR Officer may also be required to assist with the grievance and disciplinary processes. Close liaison with the Accounts/Payroll function is required and therefore a good understanding of payroll is necessary. The HR Officer advises SLT and line managers on HR legislation and policies. Additionally, the HR Officer should assist with the general running of the Bursary where time permits and to work as part of a team to help achieve the overall aims of the College.
