Support Officer Job Openings in Hartlepool

We are on a continuous journey of improvement and transformation but our main priority is, and always will be, providing safe and high quality care to our patients every day; the kind of care we would want for ourselves and our loved ones. If you share our passion then apply for this opportunity and help us make our patients’ experience the best it can possibly be.

With a budget of around £270m, three hospitals and 5,500 staff, North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust provides hospital-based services to the population of Hartlepool, Stockton on Tees and parts of East Durham and Sedgefield as well as community, therapeutic and screening to a wider population across Durham and Teesside.

Do you really want to make a difference? Do you want to be part of an innovative and pro-active service, offering the highest quality care for patients? Do you want to help service users get timely provision of wheelchair and orthotic equipment, allowing them to live more independently? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our forward thinking and committed service, working as an integrated Therapy and support team, in providing wheelchair and orthotic equipment to patients with reduced mobility.

Our integrated team is working in many innovative and exciting ways to improve quality of life for people with reduced mobility. Our support staff have positively influenced the provision time of orthotic equipment throughout the whole hospital by recently implementing a new stock ordering and monitoring process to supply large quantities of orthotic equipment, to multiple services in a pro-active manner.

Our service has adapted and transitioned over the last 6 months to incorporate and embed the use of technology for the benefit of our patients and also our staff. As an integrated team, we have recently developed a digital dashboard, this allows support staff to record equipment deliveries into the department, clinicians to record equipment provided to patients and the team to monitor stock levels to ensure patients can be provided with the right equipment at the right time.

This is an ideal opportunity for an individual who is organised and self-motivated, who is proactive and keen to facilitate the development of our service and care to our patients. The successful candidate will work closely with all members of the integrated team, receiving training on equipment to be issued and training on all IT systems.

As a member of the support team, you will be responsible for receiving in, unpacking, labelling, monitoring and issuing wheelchair/orthotic equipment under the direction of clinical staff. The job will also involve supporting the team by inputting data onto the IT systems and general office duties.

The post holder should be flexible and reliable and have experience with working with the general public. They should have effective organisation, communication and IT skills and have the ability to document information.

They must be able to demonstrate skills in managing their own work whilst at the same time being able to work within a team.
