Waking Night Youth Support Worker

Cambian Pengwern College

Salary: From £8.72p/h

Location: Rhuddlan, North Wales

Contract type: Full Time 40 hours per week

Contract term: Permanent

Shift patterns:

21.45 - 8.15am - 10 hour shifts - 4 nights per week - involves working weekends (on a rota basis)

About the job:

As a Waking Night Support Worker at Cambian Pengwern College, you will be part of a hardworking and dedicated team, helping our young people to achieve their personal targets and be the best that they can be.

Our young people have a range of communication, behavioural, social emotional, and mental health difficulties. We are seeking to recruit Youth Support Workers who; confidently build great relationships, work as a team, have a calm and positive approach - this is your chance to help our young people to improve their independent and life skills.

Cambian Pengwern College is a 52 week placement provision, has a proud and successful tradition of supporting students between the ages of 16 – 25 who have Moderate to Severe Learning Disabilities and Complex Needs, including some challenging behaviours, to gain valuable life skills, qualifications and confidence to support their onward journey towards independence. The Head of College and the dedicated team recognise this success and want to offer this opportunity to a wider range of young people and adults as part the ongoing developments that are taking place across all areas of the college.

Cambian Pengwern College is situated in Rhuddlan, Denbighshire. Taking pride in the commitment to delivering quality learning through individualised programmes for the students which is supported by and extensive range of therapeutic and sensory input with amazing on-site facilities and opportunities within the local communities for students to learn and engage with members of the community.

The purpose of the school is to prepare students for the demands of adult life through staff expertise and specialist approaches. This included providing a nurturing and therapeutic environment that encourages students to flourish academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.
