Sr Manager Finance Job Opening in Ballater

A Senior Finance Manager will lead the Finance Department and associated operations such that account management, reporting and interdepartmental relations are optimised to deliver departmental objectives.
What will I be doing?
As Senior Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the HGV EMEA Finance department. You will lead the Finance department and associated operations to ensure that all HGV weekly, monthly and annual financial tasks are fulfilled. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
  • Oversees the finance departments workload
  • ensuring accurate recording of all HGV revenues and expenses incurred in any accounting period
  • ensuring compliance with the company’s internal audit procedures
  • ensuring accurate recording of all HOA’s revenues and expenses incurred in any accounting period and liaising with the HOA’s external auditors to ensure compliance with GAAP’s
  • monitoring and ensuring reconciliation of the balance sheet accounts for all HGV BU’s and HOA’s, on a monthly basis
  • ensuring compliance with any statutory requirements that may arise as a consequence of all of the previous activities
  • Assisting senior colleagues in understanding the financial aspects of their department by providing business analysis support as required (this includes awareness of company policies and procedures)
  • Preparation of annual HGV and Homeowners Association budgets
  • Preparation and distribution of monthly HGV financial statements
  • Manages departmental performance through observation and feedback, providing an efficient, customer focussed finance facility
  • Prepares for and attends Home Owners Association meetings, keeping owners and committee members advised of, financial matters relating to, financial statements, correspondence from owners, departments response to inquiries, statutory notices, and anything pertinent to the operation of the Association that has occurred since the prior meeting
  • Delivers business analysis support as required from time to time
  • Attends all meetings and other managerial gatherings, as required
  • Guides and directs line reports to achieve goals and objectives established

  • Relevant degree, in Finance or related business discipline

  • Hands-on computer experience with proficiency in Excel, Word and accounting software
  • Experience in related industries (property management, real estate development, resort management)
  • Demonstrate excellence in service quality standards that affect all guest satisfaction, responding to guests in a timely and professional manner and a courteous and professional demeanour when handling upset guests and difficult situations
  • Ability to multi-task responsibilities and prioritise duties to meet deadlines and demands
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Organisation, planning skills and the ability to prioritise
  • Negotiation and influencing skills
  • Effective management skills (upwards and downwards) and the willingness to coach and train others
  • Positive attitude and excellent communication skills

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
  • Knowledge of commercial business, especially as it relates to resort management
  • Previous experience in the hospitality industry
