Specialist Community Public Health Nurse - School Nurse Job Openings in Sefton

An exciting opportunity has arisen for highly driven, passionate, caring and compassionate school nurses to join Sefton Children’s 0-19 Teams.

We are seeking new school nurses to be part of growing, skill mix, school nursing teams.

The post holders will provide universal and targeted support within a defined skill mix team and work collaboratively with partner agencies across the spectrum of education / social care and nonstatutory organisations. The successful candidates will hold case responsibility for identified cohorts of children and young people across the continuum of need. This is inclusive of children / young people in main stream / alternate education, pupil referral units and elective home education.

Applicants must hold current NMC registration as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (School Health). The ability to evidence recent clinical experience within this area of work is required. A thorough understanding of current policy pertaining to the health and safeguarding of the school-age population and a sound knowledge of the public health agenda in relation to local and national targets for children and young people is vital.

IMPORTANT: The role will involve regular travel across multiple sites in the North West Boroughs Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust catchment area. Therefore, the post holder must be able to meet the travel requirements of this post. Please indicate on your application how you meet this requirement.

This post is subject to an enhanced with children’s and adult’s barred list Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check. Successful candidates will either have a valid DBS check with the Trust or will be required to pay for the cost of the DBS Disclosure which is £47.50, the cost of which will be deducted from first salary.
