Service Tool Manager Job Opening in Bristol

The Service Tool Manager (ServiceNow) is in a position of providing support for a critical IT service used by Defra’s strategic IT suppliers. The core ServiceNow team manages and delivers this service to the business through the integration of interdependent supplier services upon which Defra is entirely dependent on for their Information Technology needs.
The Service Tool Manager (ServiceNow) will be expected to work outside of normal hours to support the weekly changes and could be on call for support and escalation duties.
  • Analyse and fully understand the Service Management processes, procedures, and end user requirements to improve the ITSM and CSM toolset capabilities and enhance process workflows
  • Design and administration of the ITSM and CSM applications according to agreed standards to support all ITIL processes in line with the approved Service Management Operational Model and to support stakeholder requirements as appropriate.
  • Build processes, dashboards, reports and service requests from agreed requirements using automated workflows and approvals to manage data flows

• Load, manipulate and maintain data between the ITSM tool and other Defra systems including the maintenance of all foundation data within ServiceNow environments as appropriate. • Control ITSM system access (user permissions) and maintain data security, supporting any system, user, security and integration testing
  • Performing and supporting any platform software upgrades and patches in the SaaS cloud environment across all environments
  • Monitor health, usage, quality and overall compliance of the platform
  • Raise product issues with platform technology provider and assist with any resolution Developing and maintaining good working relationships with the Defra strategic suppliers, particularly the Service Desk, as well as all ITSM process owners and key internal stakeholders.

Person specification
  • Having the ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Working within an ever-changing environment whilst delivering high quality work at pace.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written

  • A comprehensive understanding of the ServiceNow product suite. These include the administration of ITSM, CSM and Security Operations.
  • Scripting as well as the configuration of tables, workflows and forms for incident, problem, change, and requests.
  • An understanding of complex matrix and multi-supplier environments, including integrations.
  • Working knowledge of relationship databases and an understanding of LDAP/Active Directory configuration.
  • Good understanding of ITIL concepts.
  • Working with Agile teams, methodologies and tools in a virtual environment.
  • Administrating groups and roles in accordance to the Defra’s role-based access control document.
  • Configuration of data import sources and transformation maps, business rules and UI actions.
  • Creation of user surveys, reports, homepages and dashboards for key stakeholders.
  • Assist in end-user demos, knowledge transfer and training collateral.
