Orthopaedic Plaster Tech BAND 4.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Orthopaedic Plaster technician to join us. We are looking for self-motivated candidates who are able to work independently and who are conscientious, efficient and reliable. The successful candidates must be organised, have knowledge and gained the British Casting Certificate.

Duties will include providing an efficient service to the Plaster room located in the Fracture clinic. The applicant must be able to run an effective clinic when asked and work closely with the clinical team. Be enabling to carry out their duties in an effective and efficient manner and ensure efficiency in patient care. To ensure that all correspondence / treatments are documented in the patients records

Providing the focal point of communication for, patients, medical and professional staff both within the Trust and with external organisations. Ensuring that all necessary appointments are arranged. To ensure patients receive timely treatment thus meeting the Trust and national standards, or to announce when clinic may have delays. To always act in a professional manner working closely with the T&O team and other MDT’s. Also training with medical students, and other team members.

Also specalise with Pediatric clinics, and Diabetic casting.(TCC), in house training will be provided. Also opportunity to attend study days.

You should have very good communication skills, both written and verbal, the ability to organise and prioritise your workload and be competent in the use of windows software. Successful candidates must be able to work on their own initiative and maintain patient confidentiality and ensure a high standard of customer care at all times. This post would provide an excellent opportunity for a person looking for a new challenge in a friendly and busy hospital environment.
